Anniversary calculator

Enter an important date — a wedding, the start of a relationship, a birthday, a first day at work or a move-in day — and see exactly how long it has been in years, months and days, when the next anniversary falls and on which weekday, plus milestones like 1,000 days together.

How the anniversary is calculated

The calculator first computes the calendar difference from your date to today: full years, then full months, then the remaining days — plus the total day count. The next anniversary is the same day and month in the first year ahead, together with its ordinal (which one it is), the weekday and the days left until it.

If the date is February 29, in non-leap years the anniversary is counted on February 28 — the same month-end clamping rule the calendar difference uses, so the anniversary date always agrees with the full years shown.

Traditional wedding anniversary names

Some wedding anniversaries traditionally carry special names. This is a custom that varies from country to country and family to family — not a rule.

The best-known traditional names: 1st paper, 5th wooden, 10th tin, 15th crystal, 20th china, 25th silver, 30th pearl, 40th ruby, 50th golden and 60th diamond. The calculator shows the name when it matches the ordinal of the next anniversary.

Day milestones

Beyond anniversaries, the calculator tracks day milestones: 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 completed days since the starting date. It shows the last milestone reached and the dates of the next two.

These milestones are the most fun to share — send a "we've been together 1,000 days" result link over WhatsApp or Viber with one tap.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 25th wedding anniversary called?

Traditionally the 25th anniversary is called silver and the 50th golden. It is a custom, not a rule — names differ between countries, so the calculator shows them as a curiosity only.

What if the important date is February 29?

In leap years the anniversary falls exactly on February 29. In other years the calculator counts it on February 28 — some people celebrate on March 1, but we use February 28 so the date matches the full years from the calendar difference.

How many days are in 10 years?

3,652 or 3,653 days, depending on how many leap years (two or three) fall in the period. That is why the calculator derives total days directly from the calendar dates instead of multiplying by 365.

Does the starting day itself count?

The calculator counts elapsed days from the date to today, midnight to midnight — on the starting date itself 0 days have passed. The 1,000-day milestone therefore falls exactly 1,000 days after the starting date.
